Cura-Academy’s Safeguarding Adults course for carers provides our students with the knowledge and skills required to care for an individual in their home or within a residential facility.
A vulnerable adult is defined as a person who is or may need community care services by reason of mental or other disability, age, or illness, and who is or may be unable to take care of him or herself, or unable to protect him or herself against significant harm or exploitation. Safeguarding adults means protecting these persons’ right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect
The course will give our students a comprehensive understanding of the different types of abuse and how to recognise the signs and report them to the relevant authorities.
